What is the UCAS “Equal Consideration” Rule?

Under UCAS regulations, course providers must consider all applications received by the 29 January deadline equally, regardless of when they were submitted between September and January. Applications submitted after 18:00 (UK time) on 29 January are classed as “late” and universities are not obligated to consider them if courses are oversubscribed.

Key Advice: Ensure your referee (school or college) has submitted their reference well before 18:00 on deadline day, as your application is not officially sent to UCAS until the reference is attached and payment is completed.
